MWC2009: LG mobile with a transparent keyboard

LG came with a powerful set of phones to Barcelona, one of their most interesting models is called GD900. The phone is a top hype due to its design, as the sliding keyboard is transparent and its told to be made of glass, but we'll check this out personally

Neo announced their Neo Eclipse phone, which has its arced back as its most distinguishing feature. The top and bottom end of the case is only 3 mm thick, while its center is 15 mm. The phone with an interesting design has no specifications revealed, but the 4 GB of internal memory and Bluetooth support are already sure, just like the half-mirror, grey case and the chrome decoration stripe on the back. The 110 x 44 x 15 mm large Neo Eclipse is expected in October in Asia. There is no information about a European or American launch. Additional details are available on the phone's site.

General Mobile will be showing off a dual SIM Android cell phone at the Mobile World Congress next month. The mobile phone is said to have a 624MHz Marvell processor, 5 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus, Wifi, and bluetooth. The rendered image and specs look pretty except for the lacking 3G / 3.5G capability. Plus a not too sweet 400×240 pixel display. I think mobile phones this size show at least have a 700 pixel resolution. Better make that 800.

Seven new LiMo open-source phones launched

Things are beginning to heat up in the world of open-source mobile systems, as a number of companies have launched seven more cell phones which are based on the LiMo (Linux for Mobile) software platform.
With these seven new phones, the total number of LiMo phones now stands at 21.
The new phones have been launched by Motorola, NEC and Panasonic, with NEC launching the most. Firstly there is the Motorola Motozine ZN5, then we have Panasonic Forma P906i and P706iμ and finally the NEC Forma N906i, N906iμ, N906iL and N706i.
A few of these cell phones feature the forthcoming 2.0 release of the Linux-based mobile platform, this gives you higher resolution displays along with 3G/High-speed downlink packet access. Other features include mobile TV, GPS as well as advanced video streaming.
LiMo is one of many Linux-based mobile alternatives to the forthcoming Google Android.

Nokia E61i

Nokia’s E61 and E62 belong to a family of phones spawned by Nokia’s obsession with sumo wrestler or some other monolithic object.
